Will Jenkins is determined to enjoy a great start to the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season and challenge for silverware from the off across the opening three races of the year at Snetterton this coming weekend (25-26 May).
After a hugely impressive debut campaign in 2023 that featured a breakthrough win at Donington Park, Jenkins will be making the trip to Norfolk with the aim of replicating that result and setting a strong foundation for an exciting season ahead.
The Staffordshire-based driver returns for his second year of Porsche competition with the continued support of reigning British Touring Car Championship champions Alliance Racing and Wera Tools as part of their Young Driver Programme.
That partnership means that Jenkins will once again run the eye-catching black and green Wera Tools livery on his car this season, with a refreshed design for his new-for-2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport run by back-to-back series champions Team Parker Racing.
After only receiving the newly-built car a few weeks ago, driver and team have embarked a rapid pre-season testing programme ahead of the season opener. Jenkins has quickly got up to speed in the RS model, with encouraging pace shown at Snetterton and Silverstone.
The 19-year-old talent is delighted to welcome Thermo King Northern to the team for the 2024 season, joining his fantastic group of personal partners alongside Hopkins Motorsport Ltd, Asset Alliance Group, Reefer Trailer Centre, Culina Group and the Motorsport UK Academy.
Will Jenkins: “I can’t wait to get the new season underway. We’ve had a short turnaround time between the new car arriving and the opening race weekend, so we’ve tried to maximise the time available to us and testing has been a really positive experience overall.
“I’ve immediately felt at home with Team Parker Racing and we’ve built up a good working relationship from the off. We’ve got a strong line-up of drivers and I’m confident that we’ll be pushing each other forward to achieve success this year.
“With the support of the team, Alliance Racing, Wera Tools and my fantastic group of personal partners, I’m confident we can enjoy a fantastic season. I want to start on a high note and set the tone for the year ahead, so we’re going to Snetterton focused on collecting some silverware.”
The 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will be contested over 18 races across six events in support of the BTCC, visiting the likes of Silverstone and Brands Hatch. At least one race per event will receive live free-to-air domestic television coverage on ITV4 and ITVX.
