A rising young motorsport talent is turning heads across the stock car racing scene after an extraordinary debut season in Micro F2 racing. At just nine years old, Nico Tye has already established himself as one of the most promising young drivers in the sport, achieving exceptional results during his very first year of competition and for the 2026 season he is continuing in Micro F2 Stock car and will also be part of the Wera Alliance Racing Academy.
Having only started racing at the age of eight – and with no prior racing experience – Nico Tye quickly demonstrated natural ability, determination, and racecraft well beyond his years. Competing against experienced young drivers, he secured top-three finishes in over 80% of his races throughout the season, alongside an impressive tally of more than 11 race wins.
The young driverโs rapid rise has captured attention within the racing community, with spectators and competitors alike recognising his confidence on track, consistency under pressure, and willingness to learn and improve.
He is looking forward to building on that in 2026.
โMy first season in Micro F2 has been amazing and Iโve learned so much. Iโm really excited to be continuing in 2026 and to be joining the Wera Alliance Racing Academy. I canโt wait to keep improving, working with the team, and hopefully winning even more races.โ
Alliance Racing Team Principal Pete Osborne had this to say:
โStarting something completely new is always a challenge but Nico has shown incredible dedication and focus from day one. His progress over the season has been amazing to watch, and weโre incredibly proud to have him as part of the Wera Alliance Racing Academy in 2026.โ
