Round 6 MSUK British Bambino Kart Championship

Whilton Mill, Northampton August 9/10 2025

The final round of the 2025 British championship saw hot favourite for the title, Wera Alliance Academy driver Felix Tandy, unable to compete in Sunday’s races of the weekend due to a medical ruling disallowing him to go out on track.

A small accident between three or four karts whilst coming into the pit lane following Saturday’s heat two, meant Felix took a routine trip to see the trackside medical team for a quick check up. Diagnosed with a possibility of slight concussion, safety always comes first, so a hugely disappointed driver had to watch on for the remainder of the meeting as his rivals picked up championship points he was unable to acquire.

A terrific season up to this point, however, means Tandy still finishes the British series as vice champion of the bambino category. A hugely impressive feat for the young driver in only his second season of racing.

Going into the round with a three point lead on his nearest competitor, Felix began in customary style, placing his RCE kart on pole position, his fourth pole of the season out of the five sessions he competed in.

Heat one on Saturday featured a very close and fair battle with the #82 kart, yet Tandy was once again the winner with a tactically perfect display.

Small drama came in heat two, whilst battling for the lead Tandy clipped a rival kart on corner exit at Christmas corner and spun out of contention for the victory. A quick recovery and a sixth place finish, however, meant he still increased his lead in the title points race going into Sunday’s final three races of the series.

What could have happened on Sunday, unfortunately, was taken out of Felix’s control. Yet the youngster from Bedford can hold his head high, is fully fit with no ill effects from the weekend, and is already focussed on the next races to come.

Looking ahead, Felix will be competing in the final round of the prestigious Super One series, taking place at Shenington circuit at the end of August. Felix holds a handsome lead in the Super One bambino classification, so hopes are high to grab yet more silverware.
