Snetterton Race Circuit
24-25 May 2025
The first time back at Snetterton for Chase since a decisive triple win there in Ginetta last year was a tough weekend for his F4 debut season.
A mistake in qualifying on Saturday morning caused damage to the tyres that would be needed throughout the race weekend, which meant that Chase would be facing some tough races from far back on the grid made even more difficult using the tyres damaged in qualifying.
The first race of the weekend on Saturday afternoon was a masterclass in tyre management by Chase as he moved from a P16 start up to P8. A great finishing position with a chunk of championship points banked.
Sunday morning’s race started with a 7 car crash at the turn 2 hairpin on the first lap. Chase was a victim in the pile-up as his car was hit from various angles. Despite a tremendous amount of damage to the car Chase was unhurt and returned safely back to the paddock. After a couple of red flags and attempts to restart the race was finally stopped and postponed till later in the day allowing the teams some time to carry out repairs on the many damaged cars.
The team did a great job to get Chase back out for race 2 which resumed at lunchtime. A difficult drive to survive the race from P17 and he brought the car past the flag in P15.
The final race of the weekend with a solid car but still damaged tyres was a decent way to end the tough weekend. From the back of the grid in P18 Chase showed tremendous skill and determination to battle through and moved up another 6 positions finishing just outside the points in P12.
Definitely a weekend that we are glad to draw a line under and move on to better times at Thruxton next week – another new circuit for Chase and happily a fresh new set of tyres too!!
