Round 5 MSUK British Bambino Kart Championship
Rowrah, Cumbria July 19/20 2025
This yearβs fifth round of the British Championship for 6-8 year old bambino karting superstars was held in the north of England at the technical Rowrah circuit, a favourite of many drivers.
Wera Alliance Academy driver, Felix Tandy, continued his recent run of electric form, taking over the lead in the championship standings with just the final round to come, next month at Whilton Mill.
A dry and sunny Saturday greeted competitors in their identically powered MightE karts. Set up and driving technique had been finely honed by Felix and his RCE team during Friday practice the day before.
Less than four-tenths of a second separated the top six drivers in qualifying, and once again it was Tandy setting the pace with a best lap of 1.03.21s.
Heats one and two featured very close battles but no-one could get past Felix, winning both races to score maximum championship heat points.
Sundayβs Super heats were also close affairs, yet still the black and green #E plate kart came out on top on both occasions, again scoring maximum championship points.
Whilst all heats were held in the dry, the heavens opened right on cue for the event Final. Starting from the front, potential risk awaited as the young drivers got to got to grips with the changing track conditions, but Felix drove a flawless race, showing real maturity for his age. Whilst being overtaken by another competitor, Tandy did not panic, shadowed his rival around for the majority of the race, before trying to put pressure on with two laps to go. Fantastic driving from both, set up a tense final lap but the order stayed the same, Felix rounding off a superb weekend with a second place finish.
Only one round remains in the 2025 championship, with the top two drivers separated by just three points. Who will become the champion? Find out at Whilton Mill circuit in Northamptonshire on August 9/10th, with Sundayβs races being shown live on YouTube.
