Wera Tools British F4 Round 4

Thruxton Circuit

7-8 June 2025

A mixed weather weekend brought a mixed bag of results at the fourth round of the Wera Tools British F4 this week. Some very strong driving but also some very bad luck for Chase at Thruxton.

Qualifying on Saturday morning was a fair run resulting in a P9 for race 1 followed by a P12 for race 3. The reverse grid format of F4 would also mean a P1 pole position start for Chase in race 2 on Saturday afternoon.

The first bad news for Chase arrived early on Saturday as he discovered that a pit lane start would replace the P9 that he had claimed in qualifying. Despite starting in 24th place, Chase drove through the grid with finesse, getting all the way up to 9th and was looking strong to make even more places. A multiple crash then occurred several cars ahead and the debris left a stray wing mirror on track to puncture his tyre. After the necessary pit stop Chase brought it home in 15th place.

Late Saturday afternoon and a torrential downpour caused a delay to the start of race 2. Finally underway on a dangerously wet circuit Chase took the lead from a safety car start, finishing in P5 with a good haul of championship points.

The final race of the weekend brought one last chunk of bad luck for our driver as he drove from P12 to battle his way forward into the points at P9 only to be wiped out at the final chicane by a slower driver.

Chase is feeling positive for the next round, he said “We made some solid progress with our car this week, looked good for mega results but sometimes events happen that are beyond our control. I’m excited now to take this improving pace to my home circuit Oulton Park in a couple of weeks!”
