NAME – Rachel Robertson
AGE – 17
HOME TOWN – Edinburgh, Scotland
RACE NUMBER – 56
How did you start racing? I asked my dad when I turned 14 if he could take me karting. We went to a little indoor track just outside of Edinburgh.
What did you do in 24? In 2024 I raced in the Ultimate Kart Championship and the British Kart Championships in Senior Rotax.
Notable results? In my second full year in Karting, I finished 26th/64 in BKC and 15th/74 in UKC in some of the toughest grids in World Karting.
What results are you most proud of? Rd 2 of the British Kart Championships last year. It was only just over a year and a half since my first race in my own kart as a novice. I was the only girl in a grid of 50. I got a flat tyre in qualifying and was virtually last. Then I worked my way up through the heats in a world class field, finishing 18th in the final, ahead of some great drivers.
Why the Wera Academy? I’m so proud to be part of the programme and be associated with such an iconic brand. Also, right from the very first time I met the Wera team at my Radical assessment day, they’ve been so encouraging and supportive.
What do you do outside of racing? I study motorsport engineering. I enjoy playing tennis. I also like to do a lot of arts and crafts (eg cross stitch).
What are your goals for 25? I want to be consistently at the front at the Radical Cup UK and be in contention for title.
